This is wheel "pod". Originally a 72 V DC motor located on the back side of this pod drove a planetary gear system in this hub. The actual wheel and urethane tire bolts on to the outer flange. What you see now is a 6 spline stub shaft inserted in a hub city coupler which in turn couples directly to the 1" keyed shaft of a hydraulic motor.
This is the bell housing I purchased then modified to couple to this dual hydraulic pump.
One pump drives the hydraulic steering motors via 4 Bosch hydraulic proportioning valves. (This unit has four wheel independent steering.) The other pump drives fork lift, mast traverse, fork tilt and main propulsion motors.
DC motor controller and various contactors used to be housed here.
1.6L GM industrial motor to be fired by Microsquirt engine controler through Quad spark ignitor box to the waste spark coils supplied with motor from GM. Original 60-2 missing tooth reluctor wheel driving original hall effect sensor will trigger the Microsquit.
